Abstract

Roads, considered as linear type constructions, are in contact with the terrain over a long distance, and due to this they are specially subjected to hazards from underground mining. The following aspects are discussed in this paper: (1) Phenomenon and forms of mining deformation of terrain surface; (2) Road damages on mining site; (3) Hazards for road network from mining activity; (4) Site observations and experimental tests; and (5) Traffic safety on mine sites and possibilities of its improvement.
