Abstract
The work of the Roads Corporation is described. It includes streamlining responsibility for road safety, accident research, accident data collection, publicity campaigns, expert advice on road engineering to prevent accidents, education in schools and of adults, law enforcement, policy, emergency response and driver licensing. Major road safety achievements since 1970 include a 63% reduction in road fatalities and a 30% reduction in vehicle damage collisions.
