Abstract

The vision for this strategy is to reduce real and perceived danger for all road and footway users in Wales in order to promote safe and sustainable access. Road safety is core to the three aims of the Transport Framework for Wales, namely supporting sustainable development; tackling social disadvantage; and meeting equal opportunity. The aspects discussed in this report include: delivering road safety standards in Wales; investigating collisions and casualties; safety for children; speed management; safety for pedestrians and cyclists; safety for horse riders; safety for motor vehicle users; and safety for motorcyclists.
