Abstract

For most of modern passenger cars tyre noise is dominating the external noise emission for constant speed above ± 40-50 km/h. This means that for free-flowing traffic a reduction of tyre noise is necessary in order to achieve an improvement in traffic noise. Away to reduce tyre noise is to influence the choice of the road pavement.
