Road traffic accident prevention in Thailand.

Abstract

In Thailand, according to the statistics from 1971 to 1979, there was the increase in road traffic accident bout 20 per cent per year. The number of casualties increased from approximately 26 per cent per year. The rate of increase in fatalities was as high as 29 per cent per year. This problem is considered to have direct impact to the development as it causes loss of valuable resources of the country. The paper describes the existing problems and the prevention plans concerning road traffic accidents in Thailand.
