Road traffic accidents and wastage of human resources in Nigeria.

Abstract

Civilisation has advanced most in areas with fewer problems of linkage and accessibility. The largest settlements are major transportation centres and development often starts the change of rural areas to urban centres. The study examines the sociological consequences of road traffic accidents through the development trends in road transportation, highway traffic accidents and their major causes. About 8000 people are killed and 30.000 persons injured each year in Nigeria.
