Abstract

The main purpose of the WHO ad hoc technical group on road traffic accident statistics was to seek methodologies within the current health information systems for the gathering of better and more reliable statistical data on road accidents. Major areas of concern are the standardization of mortality indicators in the definition of morbidity and disability, the role of the International Classification of diseases and other classifications.
