Abstract

The research project “Road traffic crashes in Arkhangelsk, Russia in 2005-2010” is the basis for my PhD dissertation. It addresses traffic safety — a major public health concern in Russia. The dissertation describes recent trends and determinants of traffic safety in Arkhangelsk and will contribute a part of the evidence basis for planning local road safety measures in future. The Department of Community Medicine of the University of Tromsø initiated for the purposes of dissemination of the results in the study area, that the disputation took in Arkhangelsk, 11 January 2013.
