Abstract

During 1987 there were 213 deaths and 10. 521 injuries in 8182 reported casualty road crashes in Western Australia. The cost to the community through crashes which occurred in 1987 in Westen Australia is estimated to be between 240 and 430 million dollar. A major Police Dpartment objective is to further reduce the road toll and casualty rate by improving road user behaviour through education and enforcement campaigns.
