Abstract

In 1985 the British Minister of Transport set up the Road Traffic Law Review. This was a committee which had to consider how road traffic law might be improved in respect of effectiveness and acceptability. A lot of proposals were made for (1) the safety of the public (2) the efficient movement of traffic and (3) the preservation of amenity. The proposals are discussed here in more detail.
