Abstract

In 1964, 84 vehicles were fitted with reflectorized front registration plates consisting of black letters on a white reflective background, which are more legible. The main purpose of this was to find out whether the reflective material would survive severe treatment. After two years the reflective backgrounds had suffered an average loss of 42% in reflective power.
