Abstract

It is important to distinguish between perceiving and seeing. Perceiving is not a purely optical process; it includes the grasping, directly and with emotional involvement, of a situation's meaning. Therefore must the instructor teach his charge how to avoid looking at objects that draw his attention from the roads.
