Abstract

The problem concerns the kinematic and dynamic behaviours of a five-link suspension unit. The movement of the wheel carrier is constrained by five rods with spherical joints at both ends, so that the overall mechanism has two degrees of freedom: suspension movement of the wheel carrier, and rotation of the wheel. In order to treat the benchmark problem, it was necessary to implement a module for the five-link suspension in the computer program FASIM.
