Abstract
This book is suitable for any driver who wishes to improve their driving skills and safety record. It has been prepared under the guidance of a working group of police driving instructors who have consulted widely with police and civilian experts. The advice given applies to a range of vehicles and new features of the second edition include: learning goals at the start of each chapter; illustrations and diagrams to explain complex ideas; and prompts, questions and activities to help the learner assess their understanding and progress. A new chapter on the mental skills and attitudes that can improve driving performance is included.
