Abstract

The fundamentals, techniques and reasons of all stages of the making of a road are explained. After an historical introduction, the first part of the book covers general design and schemes for different types of roads in urban and rural situations. The second part of the book contains an account of the various techniques of surveying to establish the detailed location and alignment of roads.
