Abstract

The transport policy of Czechoslovak towns is based on the priority development of public mass transport. Measures excluding the through traffic of individual cars through the central zones of cities are adopted to improve urban environment and the quota of highways reserved exclusively to public transport and pedestrian zones is increasing. - The further construction of the underground and tramway lines will increase the available seat- km in the municipal transport system by 50% by the year 2000.
