Abstract

This report discusses the main evolutions which have occurred in France in recent years, as regards transport and road in the urban environment. The developments which have had greatest effect are: - the creation of urban movement plans an overall planning procedure at inter- communal level, placed under the aegis of the authorities responsible for organising urban transport. - The reinforcement of ways and means of improving public participation and involvement. The furtherance of research and updating of protective techniques against nuisances, and noise in particular.
