Abstract

Since the previous World Road Congress, the trends in the Netherlands in the traffic sector can be characterized by the key words retrenchment, deregulation, and concentration. Described are a. a. bicycle facilities in Delft, traffic structure in Houten, the HTM study on level of service offered, reclassification and reorganization of urban areas at Rijswijk and Eindhoven, school routes, bicycle lanes, provisions for handicapped persons, traffic management in Amsterdam East, and energy economics by coordinated traffic control.
