Abstract

This study identifies the most effective road engineering improvements that have been introduced in the past 40 years in Canada and the United States. It also contains research on the road safety benefits that have been achieved due to better road engineering, specifically improved road design and traffic operations. It is hoped that the study findings will help raise awareness about the important role that better road engineering has in reducing collision frequency, rate, and severity. (Author/publisher)
