Abstract

Brief details are given of the location and design of the by-pass planned by a multi-disciplinary team. Mention is made of the surveys carried out prior to construction, of the care taken in the preservation of the environment and landscape in the design of bridges, noise barriers and traffic signs, in landscaping of the ground, and in the reduction of future maintenance. Public participation was one of the features of the project. For the covering abstract of the proceedings see IRRD 274491.
