Abstract

A brief review of the current state of research into the role of alcohol and other drugs in traffic accidents is given. One of the conclusions is that the introduction of the Road Safety Act 1967 produced a significant reduction in accidents and casualties but that its initial effect has declined, and that consideration must be given to further countermeasures.
