Abstract

The Hungarian highway code emphasizes that it is an offence to drive a vehicle under the effect of any agent that influences driving abilities or if the organism contains alcohol derived from spirits. It is difficult to understand that in spite of severe regulations driving under the influence of alcohol shows little, if any, decrease in Hungary. Strick measures are needed to be taken. Besides increasing control and severe penalties, education is stressed.
