Abstract

The importance of aggressiveness, a concept too often ignored in experimental studies of transverse impact is stressed, and which basis principles govern vehicle behaviour in this type of collision is shown. A mathematical model is derived and calculations are compared with test results. This model calculates deformations of major structural points of both vehicles involved in a collision.
