The role of helmets in motorcycle accidents.

Abstract

A statistical analysis of Japanese motorcycle accidents indicates that helmets are effective in reducing head injuries is low. Dummy experiments show that full impact protection cannot be expected when the impact is delivered at or near the edge of the helmet.
