Abstract

The perceived needs and wants of the commercial fleet operator are presented. With the predicted increase in the congestion of conurbation roads and the conflicting need of the just in time for predictable deliveries, the commercial fleet operator must be able to exercist control over this vehicle fleet and its deployments. It is clear that just as other modes of transport have evolved systems to maximise the usage of their networks, so must the road transport industry.
