Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to motivate both the public and private components of the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) community to catalogue their individual capabilities. Then they must approach those Federal, state/province and local agencies charged with assuring Homeland Security and present them with a comprehensive and definitive assessment of the critical contibutions that ITS can offer to security of the homeland.
