Abstract

The article presents KITS, a system to support development and operation of knowledge based models for traffic management applications currently tested in four sites. First the role for knowledge based models for traffic management applications is discussed in general. Then the knowledge modelling approach provided in KITS is presented including details about the knowledge architecture and representation techniques adopted. Finally, examples of application design are provided taken from the ongoing demonstrators. (A)
