Abstract

After a brief description of Inverness-shire and its transport facilities a review is presented of operating maintenance and installation methods of public lighting in this area, which includes pier, jetty and slipway lighting as well as navigation and air strip lighting. Because the area is subject to high winds all installations are photo-cell controlled, and because of problems of remoteness, all county surveyor vehicles are being installed with two-way radio systems.
