Abstract

This article lets us have a look at the intricacies of parking policies. Reducing parking space looks simple, but parking policy should in fact be a subtle approach. Price differentiation, garages versus on street versus private parking, guidance systems, residential parking - the `reach' of parking policy can be enormous. Different kinds of car traffic can be influenced separately by the right mix of price, timing and physical planning. (A)
