The role of personality characteristics in traffic accident liability : research findings and methodological considerations

Abstract

Since the very first studies concerning the causes of traffic accidents, traffic psychologists have been studying the relations/sip between personality characteristics and traffic accident liability. In this review article, methodological issues related to studies of personality and traffic behaviour will be discussed, and recent findings about the role of personality factors in traffic accident liability reviewed. The article concludes with practical recommendations for future research. (Author/publisher)
