Abstract

Traffic models can play a significant role in the development and evaluation of ATT systems and strategies. Models provide a relatively easy and quick way of assessing a large number of scenarios combining advanced traffic control and information systems. This paper first describes the potential roles of traffic simulation models in ATT projects. The next section highlights the most important features that models should possess in connection with ATT applications. Finally, recent model developments and applications are briefly presented and discussed. (A)
