Abstract

This issue of Current Topics includes over 65 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on the roll stability of tipper trucks, tankers and other vehicles. Subjects covered include analyses of rollover accidents and injuries, modelling of rollover mechanics, type approval testing, driver early warning devices for impending dynamic instability, the effects on vehicle stability of wheelbase, car size, height of centre of gravity, braking and steering round bends. These items have been selected from the material added to the Transport Research Laboratory's Library Database between 1996 and 2000. Much of the relevant English language published literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) database. The previous edition, Current Topics in Transport CT 102 (see C 6664 S), covered abstracts of articles added to the database from 1990-1995.
