Abstract

Pedestrian behaviour at light controlled crossings and red light negligence were studied. The set-up of the study, video recording and interviews, and the kind of data acquisition are discussed. It can be concluded that the red light negligence is a general occurring phenomenon of which almost all pedestrians are guilty, depending on the traffic concentration. There is often no conflict, but for safety reasons the red light negligence is not wanted.
