Abstract
This contribution proposes the design of lanes for essential motor traffic (freighttraffic and businesslike passengertraffic)" on special locations" on existing expressways, to warrant the accessibility of the conurbations in the "Randstad Holland". The example is set in the neighbourhood of Rotterdam. The investment in provisions is relatively modest, as they are restricted to the spots where traffic jams arise.
