Abstract

To remedy problems of the loss of adhesion on pavements, INNOLEF, the design subsidiary of Jean Lefebvre, is developing an original application: the adaptation to highway projects of a technique already widely used in civil engineering and industry: water used at high pressure. Subsequent to testing on prototypes during 1989, and because results were particularly encouraging, specific equipment adapted to highway applications was defined then developed. In May 1990, RUGOR made its first appearance. The RUGOR machine, designed to restore pavement grip by regeneration of the surface macro roughness, is described, together with examples of its use. The German title of this article is: RUGOR : ein neues Hydromechanischen Verfahren in der Erhaltung der Strassendecken.
