Abstract

Study on a residential area to be developed in Amsterdam. Priority is given to non moter car traffic. Walk- and cycleways are planned on a 250 meter grid. Publis transport uses its own right of way and motor car traffic is separated from other traffic. The use of diagonal path patterns leads to an increase of 19% in public transport patronage while higher housing densities can add another 7%.
