Abstract

Different forms of rumble strips were used to test their efficiency on a certain highway in the U.S.A.. Macadam mats, with and without grooving, and stone rumble strips were studied. The spacing of the strips appeared to be adequate, but might be modified for a different set of conditions. The constructors are studying several locations for future placement and analysis of rumble strips.
