Abstract

Rural transportation problems in Virginia are analyzed. It is suggested how public transit systems can be developed and operated in rural areas. A number of projects are reviewed that are in operation or are proposed. It is concluded that, although scattered, sufficient resources are available for the planning and development of rural public transportation systems.
