Ruts and waves in the road surface.

The characteristics of a road and a road surface should not unexpectedly change, if the traffic process is to be kept safe and under control. Knowledge on accidents, in which ruts and waves played a part does not seem to exist. Knowledge on driver behaviour due to the occurrence of waves or ruts is lacking. It has been possible, though, to make a calculation model to determine the maximum thickness of the water layer, which does not or hardly cause hydroplaning.
