Abstract
Safe Highways of the Future is a conference exploring technologies and changes required to enable zero deaths on Europe's roads to become a reality. The 2008 Conference held in Brussels from the 12th-14th February 2008 focused its attention on the processes relating to the next 10- to 20-year term. Safe Highways of the Future brought together expert speakers in automated vehicles and highway systems, vehicle design, road design and human factors in a serious attempt to look at the opportunities which exist or which may come to exist and also to identify the obstacles which will need to be overcome in the process.
