Abstract

The primary purpose of this project is to determine the crash reduction potential of the Safe Performance Curriculum and curriculum delivery system in the secondary school. The research design is a comparative analysis of randomly assigned students receiving instruction in the Safe Performance Curriculum (SPC), the Pre-Driver Licensing Course (PDL), and a group receiving no driving instruction in the secondary school (Control). This report discusses the operational activities from July 1979 to June 1980, and delineates the interim research findings.
