Abstract

The ‘Safe System’ approach views the road transport system holistically by seeking to manage the interaction between road users, roads and roadsides, travel speeds and vehicles. The Safe System approach recognises it is probably not possible to prevent all crashes but aims to prevent those that result in death and serious injury. (Author/publisher)
