Abstract
Various programs available to prevent accidents which can be both time consuming and costly as well as causing the loss of lives are presented. Among them are the Transportation Safety Institute in Oklahoma which offers training programs from bus accident investigation to mass transit rail system safety; courses on mass transit rail safety designed for mass transit rail safety, operations, maintenance, and engineering personnel; and national safety council programs.
