Safer cars for the pedestrian.

Abstract

The need for designing cars which are safer for the pedestrian is considered. Accident and test data are used to determine car design requirements which are important for pedestrian safety. On the sport accident investigation identify the regions of a body which are frequently injured and the components of cars which cause these injuries, The results of full-scale test using modified cars and dummies representing an adult and a six year old child are given.
