Abstract

At mining sites visibility from the cabin of a large truck can be a major safety problem because of the drivers's limited field of view. In the United States this problem is causing an increasing number of accidents as the trucks become larger. As a result, the US Bureau of Mines has developed a system that cost- effectively increases a driver's field of view. The systems consists of fresnel lens blind area viewers and improved right and left mirrors.
