Abstract

The goal of this guide is to help individuals or groups in communities that lack alternative transportation start a program to provide safe ride services. To that end, the guide includes suggestions and critical information for creating a successful program–culled from research and other successful programs. Because many of Minnesota’s larger urban areas offer transportation options for drinking drivers, this guide focuses primarily on guidance for smaller communities with few, if any, taxis or public transportation alternatives.
