Abstract

The paper briefly outlines research carried out on the following topics of safety in Czechoslovakian traffic conditions. 1) Safety statistics in CSFR and its comparison with other European countries, 2) Influence of geometrical road characteristics on speed of vehicles and number of accidents, 3) The results of accidents on various types of roads, 4) Control of driver's pulse on unsafe places and sections of roads in and out of town, 5) Skid resistance problem of driver in connection with traffic safety and speed of vehicles.
