Safety barriers update (1997-1999).

This issue of Current Topics includes over 85 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on the design, specification, construction, testing, performance and safety of safety barrier systems. Articles are included on the various types and materials used for vehicle containment barriers, on highways in Europe and the USA; terminal treatment systems for longitudinal barriers, bridge parapets and various types of impact attenuation devices, including crash cushions. These items have been selected from the material added to the Transport Research Laboratory's Library Database between 1997 and 1999. Much of the relevant English language literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) database. The previous edition of this title, CT75.1, covered articles added to the database between 1994 and 1996.
