Abstract

This paper addresses the problem of accidents on higher volume 2- way roads.Overseas, policy allows for the duplication of such roads.Accordingly an accident analysis has been performed on New Zealand roads and it is found that duplication of our high volume roads could be justified by accident savings alone.
