Abstract

Teens have the highest fatality rate in motor vehicle crashes than any other age group. This article discusses findings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's 2003 Fact Sheet on safety belt usage and teenage drivers and passengers. Information and statistics on injuries, fatalities, and economic costs due to lower safety belt use rates among teens compared to the general population are included in the Fact Sheet.
